Reports

Status of Women in Montana

The Status of Women in Montana report was prepared by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) and released in late 2004. The IWPR prepares a report for each state every three years. The 2004 report for the state of Montana was made possible by a grant from the Women's Foundation of Montana.  The IWPR report has information about political participation, employment and earnings, social and economic autonomy, reproductive rights and health and well-being for women living in the Big Sky state.  It also contains a special section on the state of Native American women in Montana.

To download the report, go to www.iwpr.org/States2004/PDFs/Montana.pdf.

Limited numbers of hard copy versions are available through the Women's Foundation of Montana. Please call Cathy Cooney at (406) 755-4525 for more information.

Women’s Foundation of Montana – Convening

In April 2002, the Women’s Foundation of Montana hosted a two-day convening of women’s organizations in which representatives of 24 Montana women’s groups participated.

The convening laid the groundwork for a strong network by increasing awareness of the services and focuses of the various women’s organizations across state, and providing opportunities for exchanges of knowledge, experience and expertise–particularly between larger, urban-based organizations and those operating with far fewer resources in isolated rural Montana.
